The technical development in terms of social media is challenging for many departments of a business. Especially, the HR division of large enterprises needs to take this into consideration and adapt their strategies according to this new progress. In literature, many recommendations are given and strategies for employer branding are particularly outlined on Social Networking Sites (SNSs). Online business networks, such as XING or LinkedIn, present in contrast to leisure networks, as for example Facebook, a more professional way of social networking. This book focuses on a rather unexplored part of social networking, as it concentrates on how young professionals use XING as an information platform for their prospective employer. Since this special group of young professionals, mainly from the net generation, strives for new challenges and wants to further broaden their horizon, they differ in their job-searching behaviour. This study examines how young professionals employ XING to seek their first workplace. The questionnaire used in this study comprised a total of 32 questions and was available from November, 2012 to February, 2013. 192 participants from mainly three different countries and with an average age of 28.45 years answered those enquiries.

This book explores the use of Blockchain and smart contract technologies to develop new ways to finance independent films and digital media worldwide. Using case studies of Alibaba and in-depth, on-set observation of a Sino-US coproduction, as well as research collected from urban China, Hong Kong, Europe, and the USA, Online Film Production in China Using Blockchain and Smart Contracts explores new digital platforms and what this means for the international production of creative works. This research assesses the change in media consciousness from young urban audiences, their emergence as a potential participative and creative community within dis-intermediated, decentralised and distributed crowdfunding and crowdsourcing models. This research proposes solutions on how these young emerging local creative talents can be identified and nurtured early on, particularly those who now produce creative and artistic audiovisual content whether these works are related to film, Virtual Reality (VR), video game, graphic novels, or music. Ultimately, a new media content finance and production platform implementing blockchain is proposed to bring transparency in the film sector and open doors to emerging artists in digital media.Appropriate for both professionals and academics in the film industry as well as computer science.

Mental Health Promotion in Sch

The narratives of the children and young people, school teachers and school leaders, parents and carers, policy makers and service managers, and mental health workers and professionals, presented in this book, should provide an invaluable resource for all those involved in mental health promotion in school. The insights drawn from these direct field experiences may help to inform policy and good practice and serve as an inspiration to schools in their efforts to introduce and promote mental health for their communities. Most of the chapters present original research carried out in schools, services, universities and other contexts across different cultures. Through various qualitative studies carried out in different cultural contexts, Mental Health Promotion in Schools provides a platform for children, teachers, school leaders, parents, professionals, policy makers and teacher educators, to express their views on what works and does not work in mental health promotion in school. In our continued quest for evidence based research, we may tend to underestimate the value and significance of capturing the views and experiences of those most directly involved in mental health promotion, such as children and young people, school teachers and parents/carers, in seeking to enhance policy and practice in the area. This book should be of particular interest to those involved in mental health promotion in school at practice, training and research levels and we are sure that among these chapters, they will discover many new and stimulating insights into the promotion of mental health in such complex systems as schools. 'This is a timely book since mental health difficulties among children and young people are on the increase across the world. The editors, Carmel Cefai and Paul Cooper, are passionate about the crucial role to be played by schools in creating safe spaces in which to learn, develop and socialise. They have spent many years in the development of creative initiatives for the promotion of emotional health and well-being amongst young people. The editors bring an international perspective to the issue of mental health in schools and show how important it is to collaborate and share expertise and knowledge. Cefai and Cooper have assembled an impressive range of authors to share their knowledge and to show how initiatives can be adapted to a range of cultural contexts.' - Helen Cowie, Professor, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Surrey, UK
